"LONDON'S BURNING - BUT YOU DON'T HAVE TO BURN WITH IT" - AUGUST 2011
Over the past few days, London has exploded into a canundrum of fireworks. Underneath the belly of this City and the UK as a whole, young people, children and even adults have descended onto the streets wreaking havoc and causing destruction. Certainly a sign of the times. Some say there are astrological reasons for the rumblings down here. Others say this is something that has been brewing for years and now with the economy the way it is, funding and cuts closing down youth centres, job losses, no jobs, no prospects, no future, no hope, cuts of EMA where are our young people to turn to? Yet the trigger seems to be the death of Mark Duggan who was "shot and killed by Police" in Tottenham on Sunday, after which a peaceful demonstration took place and then the explosion began. Many young people stating that they were also sick and tired of 'black' people being shot by police and the police never being accountable, something they were no longer willing to put up with. So with so many things bubbling in the cauldron at the moment, I thought it would be nice to gather like minded people together to share some positivity and hope on the situation at hand. To share that whatever happens we all have a responsibility and are accountable for our actions and that where there is a will there is a way and that hope will always be an anchor to reach out to when all else fails.
"The world is in turmoil and it will take positive minded people who seek to improve the lives of others to make a difference. We need to burn some of the old but also bring back some of the old traditions. We all need to work collectively to take care of our young people."

"This morning 8/8/2011, I was reading about the Bhuddist practice of prayer flags. The idea is that the wind touches the prayers and carries their essence across the world, bringing hope and a higher consciousness to places and people in need. It refocused my mind on that subtle world. The one we do not see or hear but is there none the less. It is there waiting to be used and tapped in to and strengthened. So if every person who listens to this could spend 5- 10 mins sitting quietly in peace and then sending that vibration of peace out into the streets of London, we can make a difference. Even sitting in our safe houses where ever we are in the country we can make a difference. For those in the middle of it this is more of a challenge but even more powerful if they can achieve it. People all over the world live in war zones for years. Let us be thankful for our relatively stable and peaceful country. Maybe we take that for granted a bit too much.
