Kimberely Bautista -Independent Film Producer, LA is Director of a documentary called 'Justice for My Sister.'
Over the
past ten years over 5,000 Guatemalan women have been murdered because they
are women.
Adela Chacon Tax was violently killed in July 2007 in her hometown of Escuintla, Guatemala. She left behind three children.
Justice for my sister
follows the relentless campaign of her sister, Rebecca to seek justice for the murder
of her sister and to try to highlight and change a judicial system which does not recognise nor respect women's rights and which normalises violence against women. Kimberely will speak to us about what it was like making the film and give us an insight into how the campaign for women's rights is coming along.

MAMA JANE, GHANA - WOSRCA: Women’s refuge and child survival Africa was founded by Mrs. Jane Irene Adu in 2000 with the aim of fighting for the rights of displaced children and women. Based in the village of Dodowa in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana, WOSRCA has been the voice of many women and children for the past several years through advocacy and education programs, counseling and health services, vocational training for young girls, and adult education and literacy programs.
